Abstract

This research project aims to study philosophical issues involved in science fiction works, especially those of the cyberpunk subgenre as well as their aesthetic standards relevant to understanding the relationship between literature, film aesthetic and sociological aspects of contemporary reality. This involves an analysis of certain key works of the genre alongside aesthetic analysis of films that have art direction and arguments from works of this literary genre. It is expected to establish an understanding about how social reality is portrayed in these fictional works and these films, and to study aspects related to the theme of postmodernity developed by Foucault and Baudrillard and Baumman. Finally, this study will seek to establish theoretically the relations between aesthetics cyberpunk, contemporary design presented in costumes and set design of the selected films and new conceptions of society, humanity and knowledge developed in these works. The final results will be presented in form of a scientific paper and illustrated frames. (AU)
