Abstract

The increase of the energy market competition, natural growth of energy demand and influence of weather conditions in electricity consumption have dramatically affected the energy quality indices and enlarged the complexity of decision-making processes that require innovative tools to help operators understand the risk and act accordingly. Therefore, this work proposes correlate the available weather data with power system operations by developing tools for EMS applications that can aid the decision-making process at the control room. The established objectives should be achieved using the risk analysis approach that is a key to pro-active risk management and effective ranking of risk reduction measures. The obtained result should be analyzed using graphs, as a way of understanding the obtained information, and numbers, which allow quantitative decisions. (AU)
