This research project seeks to understand the educational conceptions implemented during the period of Brazilian Military Dictatorship (1964-1985), when technicality and knowledge fragmentation were eventually strengthened and consolidated in the country's educational system. Education came to be organized with a technicity character, reinforcing historical trends of offering distinct types of teaching, according to the social class served. The characteristics that are nowadays present in education are traces from a kind of historical development that the country has experienced. Understanding the education today, in its social function, involves comprehending its historical function, that has been used as a means to transmit ideology, particularly at a time when public schools were undergoing a process of modernization. The research aims to analyze the existing system's interests in reducing the illiteracy rate of the population based on the assumption of market expansion, once society has become increasingly industrialized and urbanized; information that guided the implementation of technicality in the educational field will be searched in both official and unofficial documents, in addition to the analysis of the knowledge fragmentation process resulted from such technical conception. Thus, the question raised is: what are the conceptions of teaching and training arising from the dominant educational projecting Brazilian Military Dictatorship? This is a qualitative oriented research, which will involve searches on bibliographical databases of important information about the teaching concepts definition during such period.
