In this undergraduate project, we intend to study the electrical torque formed in anelectrical power system, specially synchronous machine to an infinite bus by a transmissionline (single machine-infinite bus system) and the influence on the small-signal stability.Several ways to form the electrical torque will be studied. Further, it will be divided insynchronization electrical torque (torque in phase with the angular displacement of thegenerator rotor) and electrical damping torque (torque in phase with the angular speed of thegenerator rotor). Studying these torques it will be possible to determine the stability or not of the electrical power system. The stability analysis to small perturbations will be done executing simulations in time domain (analyzing the time curves of such variable after occurring a smallperturbation) and in frequency domain (analyzing the eigenvalues of the state matrix). This way, it is considered a linear model of the electrical system known as CurrentSensitivity Model - CSM, which is an alternative to the classical Heffron & Phillips Model and also to the Power Sensitivity Model.The proposed study considers the synchronous machine to infinite bus by a transmission line- SMIB with and without a TCSC FACTS device actuation (the modelling of the electrical system for these two situations was executed in another FAPESP Project-Process 2014/07594-6).The simulations of the electrical system the computational implementation of the equations will be realized using the Matlab software. The choice of this application is due to the knowledge already acquired about its use. The obtained results will allow a better comprehension and the conclusions will bediscussed. This undergraduate project is estimated to one year.
