Influence of gender in adjustments hemodynamic and neuroimmune induced by dynamic resistance training in experimental model of hypertension

Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. Among the risk factors that lead to the development of these diseases, hypertension has a high prevalence in both sexes. Regular exercise, especially aerobic dynamic, has been recommended as nonpharmacological conduct in the management of cardiac patients. However, the effects of resistance exercise training in hypertensive subjects remains understudied. In this sense, the present study aims to investigate the influence of gender on hemodynamic and autonomic adaptations, oxidative stress and inflammation induced by dynamic resistance exercise training of moderate intensity on a model of arterial hypertension. To this end, 32 spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) will be divided into 4 groups (n = 8 each): sedentary females (FS) and males (MS) - will be followed for eight weeks; trained females (FT) and males (MT) - will be submitted to resistance training for 8 weeks; The animals will be trained in adapted ladder with moderate intensity (40-60% of maximum load) for eight weeks. At the end of exercise training period will be assessed: physical capacity, activity of cintrato synthase and phosphofructokinase enzymes and the type of muscle fiber; blood pressure and heart rate; baroreflex sensitivity and cardiac autonomic modulation and vascular function; oxidative stress (lipid peroxidation; carbolinyl protein, superoxide anion and hydrogen peroxide; catalase, total antioxidant capacity, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase, glutathione redox balance (GSH/GSSG); Nitric oxide bioavailability (concentration of nitrites and nitrates) and inflammatory mediators (TNF alpha, IL_1beta, IL-6 and IL-10).
