Abstract

Hypothesis: Women infected with HPV have different composition of the vaginal content and for women without this infection. Specifically, it can be predicted that a deficiency in antiviral components, for example, secretion inhibitor leukocyte protease (SLPI) and antimicrobial components of the innate immune system, such as lecithin binding mannose (MBL), and the reduction of vaginal lactic acid and / or the predominance of Lactobacillus gasseri is associated with infection of the female genital tract HPV. Women during the reproductive age who attend to routine gynecological will be invited to participate. Cervical cytology is collected, the PCR hrHPV held and carried genitoscopia the collection of vaginal discharge with a swab and placed in a tube containing saline solution buffered with sterile phosphate. The sample is centrifuged and the supernatant and pellet stored separately at -80°C until the completion of dosing. Analysis: The supernatants will be tested for bacterial and antiviral immune system components using ELISA. Also the DNA is extracted from the sediment sequenced to L. gasseri and other bacteria of interest.
