Abstract

In an area with urban influence are through the storm water drainage systems that flowed out the waters of atmospheric and surface wash, and these are forwarded to the rivers and streams, along with all the pollutants present in the ways which has passed. The type of pollution is described by being classified as diffuse pollution, related to rain events and to be difficult to identify a single point of origin. This research aims to analyze the effect of water pollution from diffuse type due to urban runoff water to rivers and streams. For this, the runoff will be sampled of three different urban areas: residential, commercial and industrial. The quantitative and qualitative monitoring of superficial runoff will set during the precipitation. The analysis will be done through calculation of event average concentration and polutograms thus allowing compare the effect of the runoff to normal quality and quantity of the water body receptor. Will be expected with the findings results spread the emerging or existing problems and anticipate which structural and non-structural control actions that must be realized in urban areas to contain the negative environmental impacts in the studied system.
