Abstract

In newborns brown adipose tissue (BAT) helps regulate energy expenditure via thermogenesis mediated by uncounpling protein 1 (UPC1). Recently the BAT was recognized in adults and inversely correlated with body mass index. So many experiments have been proposed in an attempt to determine which compounds the food could improve its response and encouragement. Research to evaluate the effects of supplementation of different lipids found that the type of fat maternal diet impacts the rat BAT infants and supplementing the diet with a phenolic antioxidant increased UCP1 in BAT thereof. However, research on antioxidants and the impact of these same parameters in offspring is less frequent in the literature. In this sense, the use of foods rich in anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant, as the pulp of the fruit of Juçara Palm Tree (Euterpe edulis Mart. EJ) becomes attractive in metabolic programming in relation to BAT. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the effect of supplementation of the pulp of this fruit during pregnancy and lactation about BAT and UCP1 of 21 days offspring. The groups will be composed of male Wistar rats: C21 Group - Offspring of mothers who will receive control diet containing soybean oil. Group CJ21 - Offspring of mothers who will receive control diet with supplementation of EJ. T21 Group - Offspring of mothers who will receive diet containing hydrogenated vegetable fat (HVF). Group TJ21 - Offspring of mothers who will receive diet containing HVF and EJ. Will be evaluated concentrations of LPS, TG, TC, HDL, glucose, insulin and adiponectin, the content of fat and carcass protein and protein expression of UCP1 in BAT. (AU)
