The Fe-based superconductors (SCs) have become focus of great interest since their discovery due to their remarkable physical properties such as high critical temperatures (Tc), high critical currents, high malleability and unusual interplay between magnetism and superconductivity. To deeply understand these properties microscopically would lead to animportant breakthrough in condensed matter physics. In this project we propose the synthesis and characterization of FeAs-basedsuperconductors materials (more specifically in the family AFe2As2, A=(Ca,Sr) using an alternative type of growth method, developed and optimized by our group (GPOMS), using In-flux, which can result in high quality samples, free of defects, with higher RRR and Tc when compared to samples grown from FeAs self-flux. Initially, we'll use x-ray powder diffraction, elemental analysis (EDS,WDS), resistivity, magnetization, magnetic susceptibility DC/AC and specific heat measurements to characterize the macroscopic properties of the obtained single crystals and build their phase diagrams by identifying the existence of the Spin Density Wave (SDW) phase and the superconducting phase. Secondly, selected samples will be doped with Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) probes such as Eu2+ and Mn2+ in appropriated sites to investigate the spin dynamics of these probes interacting to the site environment of the host. The results of such ESR experiments would help us to understand the general role of the orbital differentiation of the Fe 3d bands on the suppression of the SDW phase and emergence of superconductivity in these materials.
