We had previously identified a heat shock protein involved in the migration and natural transmission of the malaria parasite. To further characterize the regulation of the molecular motor, we search for additional members of this family protein. A new small chaperone protein was identified, which is expressed at different parasite stages. Interestingly, this molecule of 17 kDa (Hsp17) is possibly found in Plasmodium erythrocityc stages and involved during parasite development. We propose to analyze the expression and localization of Hsp17 protein during Plasmodium berghei life cycle.
