Dialogue with places of memory military dictatorship in Argentina: looking for theoretical foundation and memorialization experiences

Abstract

This project proposes to carry out a research internship at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) under the supervision of professor Ruth Cora Escolar and with the support of FAPESP (Research Internships Abroad - Bolsa de Estágio de Pesquisa no Exterior - BEPE). The proposal was presented at the partial report submitted to FAPESP in March and approved by the reviewer who stressed that the results were above expectations, emphasizing the quality and accountability of the research. With the approval from my advisor at the University of São Paulo (Professor Simone Scifoni), I request the participation in the UBACyT Research Group "Lugares y Políticas de la Memoria" (Memory Places and Politics) of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) as well as other relevant activities for the research. The main goal of this research intership is to deepen the theoretical foundation about memory places related to the military dicatorship and the State terrorism. This will be achieved through the academic debates and the memorialization experiences in Argentina, that can be related to the Brazilian experiences and enrich its practices. (AU)
