Abstract

Learning disorder (LD) is a differential diagnosis of developmental dyslexia and learning difficulties. According to the literature, 50% of children with learning problems present deficits in the development of motor coordination, leading to changes in psychomotor development. In this context, it is raised the hypothesis that a program of activities could improve psychomotor skills of children with learning disorder. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of a program of activities for the development of psychomotor skills in children with learning disabilities. Method: We will investigate 15 children aged 6 to 10 years old diagnosed with learning disorder that exhibit deficits in psychomotor skills. Data will be collected through psychomotor evaluation using the Motor Development Scale (Rosa Neto, 2002). Evaluations will be performed before the intervention program onset and at the end of the intervention program. The intervention program will consist of recreational activities for the development of fine motor skills, overall motor skills, balance, body image, body image, rhythm, laterality and space-time organization, held once a week for 30 minutes for 16 sessions. It will be held descriptive statistics to characterize the study participants. In order to check the normality of the data we will apply the Shapiro-Wilk test. Specific statistical tests will be performed to compare the scores before and after the intervention, adopting for all tests, the significance level of 5% probability to reject the null hypothesis.
