Abstract

Maternal employment has been touted as one of the factors that influence the onset, duration and intensity of breastfeeding and there are several work-related factors that may influence breastfeeding. However, we realize that the great difficulty to achieve better standards of this practice among the workers, not in the lack of maternal knowledge about the importance of breastfeeding, nor the lack of programs and laws that promote, protect and encourage breastfeeding, but in lack of compliance by companies/managers to implement the current action appropriately for employees returning from maternity leave, or those that early return to work because they have no formal employment relationship. Objective: To understand the working women experience and managers entrepreneurs in relation to breastfeeding and returning to work, in an agribusiness company in Ribeirão Preto region - SP - Brazil presenting to encourage breastfeeding. Method: This is a qualitative study, which will stage a company of Ribeirão Preto of the agribusiness sector which adopts policies to promote, protect and encourage breastfeeding, such as maternity leave, breastfeeding room, flexible hours, day care centers, among others. The participants of this research will be made up of officials and managers of the chosen company. To collect the data we use the interview technique, which will be semi-structured and recorded, after acceptance to participate in the study and signing the informed consent form. Data will be analyzed under the Senses Interpretation Method. (AU)
