Abstract

The premature infant has great risk to global delays in motor development , cognitive, social and also skills of spoken language , both receptive , as expressive . Therefore, early identification of effects related to the spoken language are essential in the prevention and diagnosis of spoken language changes. The use of standardized instruments have been increasingly used as an aid for evaluation and diagnosis of changes in the acquisition and development of language. Thus , this study aims to investigate the receptive and expressive skills of premature and compare them to not premature , with typical language development . Will be selected from the age group, 15 subjects for the sample group : Sample group I ( GIA ) : five subjects of both genders with chronological age of three to three and 11 months; Sample group II ( GIIA ) : five subjects of both genders with chronological age of four to four years and 11 months; Group III sample ( GIIIA ) : five subjects of both genders with chronological age of five to five years and 11 months. In the comparison group are also selected 15 subjects , following the same criteria for the sample group to compare the groups by age and gender . These subjects will be evaluated by the Brazilian version of the Preschool Language Assessment Instrument , second edition , to assess receptive and expressive skills of spoken language . The data will be compared and analyzed using descriptive analysis and parametric or non-parametric tests . (AU)
