Abstract

The Phytophthora gummosis is a disease that affects Citrus plants and it is caused by the oomycete Phytophthora parasitica. The citrus production is a important area of economic interest for Brasil and the Phytophthora gummosis causes considerable losses to citrus crops every year. So, this project's goal is to obtain a greater knowledge about the secondary metabolites produced by this microorganism in order to obtain sufficient information for the developmentof more efficient strategies to fight this disease. In this study, ESI-Q-TOF (electrospray ionization quadrupole/time of flight) and MALDI-TOF IMS (Matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight imaging mass spectrometry) mass spectrometry techniques are going to be used, besides chemometric tools.
