Abstract

This research intends to study and investigate the dance performer in order to understand the means he/she uses for artistic creation in the contemporary scene. Therefore, the study tries to approach and reflect on fundamental matters that come across the dance performer when he/she develops the creative work - such as: choreographic composition, awareness of his/her physical and emotional structure, technique mastery, among others -, both in the conception of a spectacle and in the public exhibition of a choreographic piece. Thus, we aim to critically analyze the dance performer so that we can investigate the operating modes on dance creation, taking into consideration the hybrid context of the contemporary dance productions, guided reading and study of three main authors: Hans-Thies Lehmann (2007), José Gil (2004) and Kuniichi Uno (2014). The study (of theoretical-artistic nature) is based both on the search for experiences in dancing practice through the dialogue with dance performers of the current scenario that have a significate and acknowledged professional track in Brazil (mainly in São Paulo city), and on the conception of a scenic choreographic experiment (to be performed by the candidate) in which we expect to associate the theory studied throughout the research to the practice of artistic creation in dance.
