The use of morphometric analysis in morphostructural characterization of the watershed of Rio do Peixe - SP

Abstract

The work includes a proposal for a scientific initiation research related to Quaternary Study Group UFSCar - Sorocaba. Search up this study to understand the morphostructural features and the partitioning of the relief in the watershed of Rio do Peixe - SP. The area is located between the Paulista Peripheral Depression and Cuestas Sandstone Basalt-in Botucatu region. With regard to the lithology of the site, they are found in rocks area pertaining to Group St. Benedict and Passa Dois Group. The analysis will be performed by applying morphometric techniques and geoprocessing elements and aspects of the relief, drainage network and lithostructural components allowing an integrated analysis of the morphotectonic the area. The morphometric study and the proposed mapping will help in analyzing the conditions that influence the geomorphology of the area. The results will be related to existing bibliographic references and field work during the period of the work. It is expected at the end of this survey give an overview on the relationship between morphostructural compartments and morfoescultural in dynamic geomorphological studies area. Assessment of contributions of morphometric techniques of relief analysis also be founded on the discussions on the results of the work proposed here.
