Abstract

This project has an innovator and emergent character because presents the production and characterization of titanium dioxide nanoparticles-incorporated diamond-like carbon (DLC) films. The DLC films will be produced using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique and titanium dioxide nanoparticles will be incorporated in their bulk. Commercial biomedical alloys will be the substrates. The films will be characterized using electrochemical assays to evaluate the anticorrosive effects using acid environment. The obtained data will be adjusted to understand the protection mechanism of these coatings. This project hopes prove the anticorrosive effects in order to enable the use of DLC films in biomedical applications. (AU)
