Analysis of chemokine and chemokine receptor expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma cell lines

Abstract

Different studies have reported the role of chemokines and their receptors at different stages of tumor progression and metastases development; however, the way as these molecules affect oral cancer are not completely understood. In this context, the evaluation of the expression of chemokines and their receptors in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) may help to understand the mechanisms involved in the development and progression of oral cancer. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the expression of chemokines CCL3, CCL4, CCL5, CCL19, CCL21, CXCL12 and their receptors CCR1, CCR3, CCR4, CCR5, CCR7 and CXCR4 in primary OSCC cells, metastatic and human not transformed keratinocytes. In addition, the tumor cells will be treated with chemokine recombinant whose higher expression of chemokine receptor will be found in the preliminary analysis for determination of the cell proliferation index.
