Abstract

Dietary supplementation of grazing animals is an activity that aims to supply the nutrient deficient fodder minimizing the negative phases of animal production in grazing systems process allowing elevation of the animal performance and slaughter weight earlier, a condition that can improve the quality of the meat. The objective of this study is to evaluate the meat quality of Nellore young bulls grazing in different heights of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu (15 , 25 and 35 cm) in stocking continues and variable load associated with supplementation strategies and finished on pasture during the dry period with diet supplemented or feedlots system. The sward heights of 15, 25 and 35 cm received 0.6% of the PC, the PC and 0.3% mineral mixture, respectively. In the transition period of 2014, the animals kept in sward height of 15 cm are confined and levels of supplement offered in paddocks of 25 cm and 35 cm increase to 0.6% and 0.1% PC, respectively. In the dry season, the animals are divided into finishing systems on pasture or feedlot. Half of the animals will be finished on pasture, receiving 1.0% of PC supplements and the other half completed in confinement, with no difference between treatments for the historical review system (recreates) the strategies adopted in the waters. The experiment in the year 2012/2013 will be conducted according to a completely randomized design with factorial arrangement of three historic growing and two finishing systems with nine replicates (animals) and, for the experiment of 2013/2014 the experimental design be random with mean comparison. Normality tests and analysis of variance (P <0.05) will apply using the procedures PROC MIXED of SAS ® software. (AU)
