Abstract

The development of the area of social skills contributed materially to the understanding of interpersonal relationships. When it comes to gifted children, there are few studies that relate these two issues, and some point to the need for social skills training so they can deal with situations that favor their interactions. Thus, this study aims to describe the social skills of students with giftedness and evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention program by comparing the social skills before and after the implementation, from the point of view of the students and their parents and teachers. Participate in this study, eleven students from the first cycle of elementary school a public school in a city in the state of São Paulo, as well as their parents and teachers. Participants respond to the following instruments: Social Skills Rating System (SSRS) version for students, parents and teachers and the Socially Savvy Answers Questionnaire, version for teachers (QRSH-Teachers), and version for parents (QRSH-parents). Students will be divided into two groups and the intervention will take place in eight meetings after school once a week, with an average duration of 90 minutes. Using the multiple baseline design, data analysis will be performed by comparing the results of the instruments applied before and after the intervention for each group, assessing the relevance of it.
