Abstract

The general objective of this research is: verifying if is there indicators of giftedness in students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a city of the State of São Paulo. The specific objectives are: a) doing a bibliographical survey about the coexistence of giftedness and ADHD; b) evincing and analyzing teachers knowledge about giftedness; and c) enabling teachers to use the tool of giftedness' identification. Participants will be around 5 psychosocial professionals of CAPs I, 5 teachers of elementary school with at least one student appointed by the CAPs I diagnosed with ADHD, 5 students and their peers in the classroom, involving the average of 150 students. The research is exploratory-descriptive with multiple case study. The tools used are: a) characterization forms for psychosocial professionals and teachers; b) questionnaire about the concept of gifted and talented students; and c) the guide of direct observation in the classroom. A pilot procedure with a classroom teacher and your class will be held, as well as with a CAPs I professional for the adequacy of instruments. The data analysis is descriptive with qualitative approach. The expected results are: recognition of indicators of giftedness in students with ADHD; checking the effectiveness of the identification tool used with students with giftedness and ADHD; characterization and verification of the professionals involved in research, as well as their views on the giftedness and talent.
