Abstract

The juvenile erotic narrativities: "Moça, Você é Machista", is the title of the postdoctoral research project that we introduce to PPGCOM-ESPM. When we conceive the youth, the communication, the technology and the consumption practices - that are the background scenarios of this research project - we assume that individual and collective experiences insert themselves in hybrid cultural contexts (CANCLINI, 1997), where individuals withdraw, selectively and in a conflictual way, conservative matrices arising originally from their own ways of life and, through cultural products, these original matrices - or cultural traces - are again (re) appropriated and (re) signified. And when we search elements of investigation that are able to show us the construction of the subjectivity of the youth, we find the image of the body and the vocality (ZUNTHOR, 1987) about the body as fundamental in the composition of these subjectivities. In another words, we observe a great number of networks and interfaces in which the youth, through images of bodies, share ideas, desires and affections related to the sexualities and to the eroticism. In this sense, we can say that, the construction of youth subjectivities - that in this project are considered through the narrativities about sexualities, built from cultural practices and of consumption - exists in the borders between mass culture and mediatic culture and in between the spaces of virtualities and presentiality. Therefore, it is in this threshold that settle the main goals of this project: Discover which elements, arising from the matrices under the masses cultures, are present in youth narrativities about sexualities; how these elements are (re) appropriated and (re) signified by young people in the context of mediatic culture and, lastly, if these subjects can, through these narrativities, redo and reinforce ties.Having as foothold these references, we elect the Facebook community "Moça, você é machista", as empirical object of this research. This choice occurred for several reasons: Mainly because "Moça, você é machista" has the image of the body as primarily element in the construction of erotic narrativity. That faces our analytic perceptions and theories: The image being a profound feature of modernity - that crosses, as well, postmodernity - therefore, a starter matrix of these youth people's culture, it is possible to analyze it as a strong element of (re) appropriation. Then, the choice also falls over "Moça, você é machista", because it triggers issues related to sexual genres in a very peculiar way, as the own community title is able to inform. Finally, because the creator of the referred community is of the male gender and that turns it even more interesting to consider the relations of youth subjectivities. We face in this research the methodological challenge given by digital ethnography and by the reception research. The first proposes to us ways to identify how these spaces configure themselves, and from this identification, we will have elements to analyze youth subjectivities - that, here, are seen through the narrativities about the sexualities, the affections and the eroticism. The reception research, that selects as main focus the analysis of the mediations (MARTÍN-BARBERO, 1997) and not of the means, as the culture and not only the socioeconomic ratings, will lead us to understand "the constructions that delimit and configure the social materiality and the cultural expressivity (...)" (IDEM, p. 292), of the youth. The phases of the fieldwork are: Identification of narrativities, survey of the characteristic elements of erotic, interviews with the community creators, databases and analyzes.
