Pre-exposure measures occupational accidents with biological material designed to prevent or minimize the risk of professional come into direct contact with biological material and, consequently, with the pathogens is carried by the blood, through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Nursing professionals are the ones who most often suffer this kind of accident and those who support the greatest rates of seroconversion to HIV.The home care service (SAD) is a substitutive or complementary service to hospitalization or outpatient care, responsible for the management and implementation of the Multiprofessional teams of home care (EMAD) and Multiprofessional teams support (EMAP). Because it is a relatively new health policy, and a new field of action for nursing professionals little is known about the working conditions of professionals that Act and the use of personal protective equipment. This is a cross-sectional study, which will be conducted through individual interviews to identify the use of individual protection equipment (gloves, glasses, apron and mask), use of safety devices (retractable needles, safety lancets) and disposal of sharps by professionals who work in SAD during home visits. And the factors that facilitate and or decrease adherence to use of PPE.
