Abstract

Harvest mechanization of cane sugar, to eliminate the burning of straw and the manual labor, significantly increased the load on the soil by the harvester and transport vehicles. Consequently, problems associated with soil compaction, such as increase in runoff volume and soil erosion, have been identified in production areas. The objective of this project is to evaluate structural changes in soil, caused by mechanical harvesting operations of canesugar, in various systems of soil management, by monitoring the compaction and soil physical quality. Experiment will be 4x2x2 factorial corresponding to 4 tillage systems (C - Bed system, PC - conventional tillage, PR - Reduced tillage; PD - no-tillage, with mobilization only in furrow), two sampling locations (wheel traffic line and interrow) with 5 replications. Are indicators of soil physical quality, as Ds, Porosity, RP, S parameter and estimate the soil compression curves (CCS). The analytical results of chemical and physical soil properties and technological and productive characteristics of sugarcane will be subjected to analysis of variance, and the means compared by Tukey test at 5 % probability.
