Abstract

Cerebral palsy (CP) comprises a group of permanent disorders of development of the movement and posture, causing limitations on activities that are assigned to non progressive disorders occurring in fetal or infant brain development. The global and specific cognitive process can be affected, either due to disturbances attributed to the PC as a secondary consequence due to limitations that restrict the activity of learning and experience on perceptual development. For the occupational therapist who works with the pediatric population, it is critical to assess and stimulate cognitive development. However, there are few instruments in Brazil focusing on this aspect, since most of them are for the exclusive use of psychologists, what prevents this ability to be measured in the clinical practice of occupational therapy. This project seeks to examine the content validity and verify the reliability of the Assessment Protocol Basics (PACB) for preschool children with cerebral palsy. This is an applied research, non-experimental, cross-quali-quantitative and descriptive. The sample will consist of an experimental group consisted of children with cerebral palsy and another group called the control group, composed of typically developing children. The PACB will be applied in a total sample of 60 children, 30 children with cerebral palsy children aged four to six years of age, of both sexes, in treatment in rehabilitation centers of Ribeirão Preto and 30 typically developing children, with the same characteristics as gender and age of the study group. Statistical procedures descriptive, correlational and multivariate analysis for data analysis will be used.
