Abstract We have proposed to synthesize various PzDP based non-fullerene small molecule acceptor materials for OPV applications. The proposed molecules possess PzDP core moiety and various electron with drawing groups as end capping units. As PzDP is highly electron deficient compared to DPP, incorporation of electron with drawing groups could result in the acceptor materials improved low laying LUMO energy levels with better electron transporting properties. During the project the proposed molecules will be synthesised and characterized using different techniques. The device will be fabricated and different optimization protocols will be developed to get the best possible performance of the materials. The ultrafast dynamics of the synthesised molecule will also be studied to get information on the different excited state phenomenon taking place. The information obtained from the three dimensional approach of design and synthesis of molecules, getting good efficiency and understanding the excited state processes will be correlated to further obtain promising molecules. We hope the proposed molecules can show good efficiency as electron transporters and present design and the basic architecture can provide useful contributions in the field of acceptor materials for OPV applications. | |
