Abstract

The loss of tooth structure may compromise the strength of the tooth requiring coronary reconstruction by means of pins or cores. Cores can be made of different metal alloys. However, it not yet established protocols for usage for the various alloys. Thus, purpose of this study is to analyze the stress distribution of single fixed prostheses restored with metal free crowns and cast metal core, varying the alloy used as aluminum-copper, silver-palladium, gold and nickel-chrome, by means of the method of the three-dimensional finite element analysis. It will be made a three-dimensional model representing a bone block of the anterior region of the maxilla containing tooth element 21 endodontically treated and varying the core material with layer of crown cementation of 0.1 mm. The analysis will be of linear type, with the materials considered homogeneous, isotropic and linearly elastic. Loads of 100 N vertical and oblique will be simulated. The results will be plotted in the von Mises maps (MPa) for the structures analyzed.
