Transform to understand the work: the self-confrontation and its applications in Brazilian Psychology theses and dissertations

Abstract

This project proposes to research the methodological device applications named self-confrontation. Such device is used both as for work analysts as for researchers in intervention processes in industrial activities and as a collecting data instrument for scientific research. The self-confrontation to which we refer is, particularly, the one that was created by the linguist Daniel Faïta and improved in the theoretical-practical framework of Clinic of Activity, under the leadership of Yves Clot. The proposed research has as general objective to assay the applications of this interventional and methodological device research that resulted in the production of dissertations and doctoral theses defended in Brazilian stricto sensu postgraduate Psychology area programs. Specifically, will be analyzed the completed works between 1987 and 2014, regarding the organized data which has became electronically available in the Theses Database of "Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior" (CAPES). It is intended to identify and study the similarities and dissimilarities in the application of self-confrontation in the researches produced in Brazil compared to prescription of self-confrontation use by researchers at the Clinic of Activity and also investigate and discuss how this device is used in different sub-areas of academic psychological knowledge, in different universities and graduation programs. At the end of the work, will be presented beyond the organized data about applications of self-confrontation in completed academic research in the country, the indications, discussions and analysis that, hopefully, will be able to contribute to the improvement and the contextualization for Brazil in this device.
