Abstract

Ceramic materials such as alumina and zirconia have been studied over the years in the application as biomaterials. Yours bioinert nature, has stimulated the development of new alternatives, such as chemicals treatments to make the most appropriate biological performance of these ceramic. The biomimetic coating of ceramic bioinertes from solutions with concentrations equal to those of human blood plasma, SBF allow the growth of a layer on the bioactive implant surface. The bioactivity of the material is related to the formation of a layer composed of hydroxyapatite crystals, similar to biological apatite. The biocompatibility associated with the structural properties of alumina and zirconia has spurred the clinical use of these materials. Thus, this work aims to study the adhesion and uniformity of the coating of calcium phosphate on alumina-zirconia nanocomposite, towards the implementation of an ideal interface on the surface of the nanocomposite by formation nanoroughness and hydroxyl groups that provide active sites for precipitation of calcium phosphate homogeneously by biomimetic method. To this end, the nanostructured surfaces will undergo treatment using acidic and basic and oxygen plasma solutions. Physical, mechanical and microstructural characterizations of adhesion and biocompatibility of the coated nanocomposite tests will be performed. For these specimens of alumina-zirconia nanocomposites of 5% will be obtained. Analyzes will also be carried out in vitro for cytotoxicity, proliferation, adherence and adhesion ability of osteoblast cells on the surface of these materials before and after surface treatment, after coating with the calcium phosphate. The characterization of the surface will be conducted by diffraction and X-ray fluorescence, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force. (AU)
