Analysis of urban housing units in the West Paulista: the case of Presidente Prudente

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the relationship between the urban and housing policies studying the relationship between the areas for social housing in the master plans undertaken in the city of Presidente Prudente and the implementation of proper housing. It is intended to compare two periods of production, the production period of the National Housing Bank - BNH, 1964-1986, with deployed sets after its closure, ie 1987 to 2013 Presidente Prudente is a city located in western São Paulo and regional influence, where the production of social housing had physical, economic and social impacts on the entire city. The theme should be the need to research the policies of producing space, urban and social housing; from these structured products and are offered to low-income population. Consideration of the possible correlation between the areas allocated to housing of social interest in existing and where they were implanted master plans will be made. Furthermore, it will be checked urban design and public policy adopted by analyzing the architectural and urban typologies. This will made the lifting of the presence or absence of institutional areas of each set and if they are busy. The justification is based on the issue of disarticulation and neglect of treatment producing housing of social interest with the urban and the connection with the rest of the city. It is intended, with the result, it is demonstrated the relevance of design in order to unite the interests of the villa itself, and of the whole, ie, the city, and also the guidelines of political action on housing production.
