Abstract

Children with complex communication needs benefit from programs aimed at guidance and instrumentation of the user, family and school. This research aims to develop, implement and analyze the effectiveness of an individualized program of alternative communication for nonverbal children with cerebral palsy applied in three contexts of their daily life. Part is the hypothesis that the implementation of this program and the supports offered by their parents, teachers and therapists in three contexts of development can intensify and increase the quality of the repertoire of communicative skills. This research will be conducted: in schools directly with teachers; in the clinical environment with occupational therapists and family environment of children, directly to mothers or other family member in case of impediments mother. Participants are 03 children diagnosed with nonverbal cerebral palsy, aged between 6 and 12 years, and their therapists, parents and teachers. The design to be used will be the baseline for multiple situations. Qualitative instruments relating to the content and features of participants (interviews and clinical data) and relevant to the measurement of the intervention (protocol) quantitative tools will be used. There is increased communication skills for greater participation of children in this sample in different contexts, activities and academic tasks are expected. (AU)
