Abstract

This research intends to analyze two of the leadership structures characterized as summit organs, the Executive National Committee and the National Council of PMDB, PFL (renamed DEM in 2007) and the PSDB, from the foundation of the political parties to nowadays. The approach focus on two key matters: which is the relation between these two summit organs? Who are these leaders? To verify these assessments it will be done an evaluation of the party statutes, like the most important document scripted by a political party, in order to understand the power internal mechanism and the correlation between the instances. Furthermore, it intends on doing a mapping of the leaders, analyzing the profile and the permanence of these members, that is to say, who are the members that compose of each formation, how many times and which office the leaders remained. This matter will be calculated through the "survival rate" formulated by Schonfeld, showing how many straight mandates each composition remained, until all the members don't hold it anymore. In case the rate will also be applied individually highlighting the leaders remains.
