Abstract

This project is a part of research already conducting on biomass combustion in the Department of Energy - FEG/UNESP Campus Guaratinguetá. The projects of this group are divided in field experiments (Costa et al., 2012), laboratory experiments (Amaral et al., 2014, Amorim et al., 2013), and modeling (Costa & Sandberg 2004 Neto et al. 2011). The present work is linked to FAPESP - Process Nr. 2013/04441-1. The main objective of this work is determine the physico-chemical characteristics of different wood species of the Amazon Biome using a methodology that is based on the quantitative saccharification of polysaccharides that plant biomass. This research presents an innovative character because these biomasses compile information that will be essential in the composition of the database reference in the prevention and control of forest fires and radiation damage.
