In this research project, which is part of the master project FAPESP 2014/00244-0, will investigate the detection of the herbicides atrazine and prometryn via surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The limits of potability associated with atrazine and prometryn are about 10-10 mol/L. Therefore, the detection of such concentration is a challenge that requires the use of high sensitivity and selectivity techniques, which is the case of SERS. The SERS spectra of the herbicides dissolved in colloidal suspensions containing silver nanoparticles with different morphologies will be collected in order to understand the role of this parameter (morphology nanoparticles) in the detection of these herbicides, always considering their respective concentration limits for drinking water.
