The areas of urban environmental risk in Ourinhos city / São Paulo State

Abstract

In an etymological approach the word risk means danger situation or danger possibility. And vulnerability can be understood as the susceptibility, by human being part, to a danger or damage situation. Associated to an environmental zoning synthesis cartography, their aims gain other connotations. They become important indicators for the territorial ordination which specializes the areas of potentialities and vulnerabilities of a specific territory, directly contributing with the cities politic proposals which compose the environmental planning of the master plans. In this logic, attending to new environmental politics and federal exigences, especially the 12.608 Law of April 10th , which previews that the cities identifies and incorporates the risks and vulnerability mapping in their master plans, it is aim of this research do the urban environmental risk areas mapping in Ourinhos City. As theoretical conception, the research will adopt an investigation method of landscape systemic analysis, in which NATURE-HUMAN-SOCIETY starts being planned and comprehended in an integrated way. For that, from a methodological view, it will use the procedures presented by Marandola Jr; Hogan (2006), Alves (2006) e Esteves (2011), permitting examples with relevant indicators and variables about the evolved thematic. In the end of the research, they become the major challenges to show: a) a synthesis cartography which specializes, by graphic scenarios, the urban environmental risks areas in Ourinhos City/Sao Paulo State, classifying them by their function, tipology and risk degree ans, b) mitigatory measures which aims politics for urban risks prevention and combat.
