Violence against adolescents and young gay: senses, meanings, and social support

Abstract

This research project falls within the field of Public Health Nursing, and based on a perspective of sexuality and gender, proposes to investigate the meanings that adolescents and young gay ascribe to experiences of violence, as well as network access and social support that they have to face this problem. For the design of this research, a qualitative approach based on theoretical references Gender and Sexuality will be used. The construction of the data will occur from carrying out semi-structured interviews and a network map with teens and young homosexuals. Data will be analyzed by the method of interpretation of meanings, based on hermeneutic-dialectic principles. The aim of this study contribute to the production of knowledge on violence against adolescents and young gay and possibilities for new proposals and policies to address the problem and improve the quality of life of these.
