A body so gentle as profane: a history of KNOW-POWER about prostitutes in Brazil

Abstract

This project is linked to the PhD project, entitled From such a gentle body as profane: a story of power-knowledge about the prostitutes in Brazil, developed in UFSCAR, under the guidance of Prof.. Vanice Maria Oliveira Sargentini. Entered in the tables of French discourse analysis (DA), the issue of ongoing research is aimed to investigate as historically built the subjectivity of Brazilian women in their relationship with prostitution from the field of legal knowledge as well as tourist advertisements about Brazil. We take as a general objective to understand what are the possible enunciabilidades in each historical temporality on the harlot and her body in engendering the legal knowledge with other discourses that define it and build it. It is then that treadmill binomial body-speech, the stage 12 months abroad, under the supervision of Prof.. Stéphanie Hennette-Vauchez the Université de Paris X - Nanterre, France, it is substantial to the development of a piece of research. In their studies, the researcher develops an analysis of the relationship between the person and his body, from two angles: (i) the legal knowledge appropriates other conceptions, sometimes empirical and axiological to produce its validity; (ii) the relationship between person and body, in the legal world, reveal the formation of a public policy. We are interested in this period, the deepening whose second chapter of the thesis will approach the investigation of how the legal monumentalizes on the body from prior conceptions that present themselves in this construction, producing "truth effects" know. Following the archaeological method, we propose us to participate in academic activities, by the researcher, and want to understand how knowledge, especially the humanities allows distinct regimes of visibility on the body, rebelling in the opacity of language.
