Abstract

The intraspecific variation has been described for some species of Triatominae subfamily. The biological model more important to study this variation and that presents many works in the literature is the species Triatoma infestans that was analyzed morphologically, morphometrically, biochemically, molecularly and cytogenetically. Intraspecific chromosome variations were also described for Panstrongylus geniculatus and Rhodnius pallescens and, more recently, R. ecuadoriensis. In addition, variations in the gametes of hemipterans male have also been reported in the literature. Thus, this paper aims to describe cytogenetically T. brasiliensis, R. neglectus and P. megistus from different Brazilian states, with emphasis on the analysis of the possible presence of intraspecific chromosome variation and in the structure of gametes these important vectors.
