The success of delayed reimplantation of avulsed teeth is limited due to the great potential of external root resorption occurs. Despite being a reality in the dental office, there isn't a specific treatment for this type of trauma. In an attempt to restore the architecture and function of the periodontal ligament, and to avoid ankyloses, avoidingor modulating the replacement resorption, the root surface of avulsed teeth can be treated with various substances including EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) 17%,fluoride at high concentrations, among others, always seeking a lower chance of inflammatory resorption and replacement occurs. Thus, the aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of discs from the vestibular surface of roots of bovine teeth with nd: yag laser associated with hydroxyapatite nanoparticles via cell viability and qualitative evaluation of images by microscopy tests. Seventy six dentindiscs will be cut with 4.5 mm in diameter after the scrape of the labial surface of the root surface of bovine teeth with periodontal curette. The discs will be legalized, cleaned and autoclaved. The specimens will be treated with the recommended substances and placed in 96 wells where cells of primary cultures of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts will be in contact with the discs for 48 hours. Survival and cell viability on the surface of discs will be assessed by XTT assay. The scanning electronmicroscopy will be used to verify the adherence of fibroblasts to the surface of the discs. Data will be analyzed statistically by Anova and Tukey test (p < 0.05).
