Abstract

The erosion of soils became an environmental and social problem in Western of Sao Paulo State. Among the various kinds of erosion, the linear of kind gully is one of examples more impactful in numerous urban peripheries and country roads. The process of urbanization, intensified from 1960s, with the openly lots and urban drainage systems changed the run-off in strands and background valleys are located in the urban areas. In numerous projects of urban lots and urban macro-drainage didn't compromised in to ensure appropriate targeting of rain waters from the receptor streams, situation that favors the concentration of rain waters in run-off in strands and installation of gully process in amount drainage of basin. In this sense seeks to understand; through of social conditions as urban drainage network and occupation of relief, and natural conditions of local landscape; the geographic distribution of ravines and gullies in Stream Grito micro-basin, Rancharia city. In this scenario of gully process in the periphery of Rancharia city, seeks through of empirical and analysis of aero-photo-interpretation to estimate the dimensions of gully's Stream Grito, in order to define the main areas of risk and spatial and temporal evolution of gully, highlighting the terrain forms generated in recent period of historic scale. In addition to this diagnosis, this project seeks apply low-cost techniques with palisades made of bamboo and wood to control runoff and contribute with the erosive process control. (AU)
