Abstract

Vochysia divergens Pohl (Vochysiaceae) is a native species from the Pantanal biome, popularly known as Cambará. This master's project intents to investigate the chemical profile by HPLC-DAD-MS plants of V. divergens cultured under drought stress conditions and elicitation with two different strains of endophytic fungi in comparison with the respective controls. The 3',5-dimethoxyluteolin-7-O-²-glucoside and 3',5-dimethoxy-luteolin flavones obtained from V. divergens in a previous study will be used as internal standards in quantitative analyzes along with other natural substances to be isolated. Additionally, antioxidant and neuroprotective assays will be held evaluating the biological potential of isolated compounds. Thus, the main goal of this proposal will be investigate whether inoculation with endophytic fungi aids in the process of host plant resistance to drought stress and either alters the metabolic profile of V. divergens therefore intensifying its antioxidant and neuroprotective potential. This project also aims to contribute to the training of human resources in the area of natural products in the state of São Paulo in a multidisciplinary approach. (AU)
