Abstract

In studies of urban climate, remote sensing by surface temperature has been used with great frequency, since the surface thermography modulates the temperature of the lower layers of the atmosphere and reveals the urban heat islands. Therefore, the proposal of the regular master project is to diagnose thermal anomalies in intra-urban space from Paranavaí, in detailed scale, and identify the influence exerted by different land uses and occupations over the time in the city. In order to achieve it, we proposed, among the specific objectives, to analyze the intra-urban and rural temperature through the image of Landsat 5,7 and 8; and arise changes amid the urban network over time and relate it to the surface temperature. For this purpose, running these two goals during the internship at Ohio State University (OSU) is proposed for the subproject BEPE, adding to it a comparison with the Canton City, in order to enhance the climatological knowledge and about the structure, form and urban design of a city in the United States, with different characteristics. Maps of surface temperature and about geourbans and geoecological conditions will be developed using satellite imagery and remote sensing techniques, and the comparative analyzes will be guided in these cartographic data, beyond the theoretical surveys. Ergo, this period of internship at OSU aims to improve the results obtained in the regular project, contributing to a deeper understanding of the techniques and a different climate reality. (AU)
