Marilia Fomation's (Grupo Bauru - Ks) paleopedogenetic evolution at Campina Verde (MG) region

Abstract

As important testimonies of Neocretaceus evolution, Marilia Formation's paleosols have developed during semiarid to arid conditions in complex alluvial and fluvial systems during the Maastrichtian. Assuming an integrated analysis of the variables constraints of depositional systems and pedogenetic evolution in these environments, we intend to reconstruct the paleoenvironmental conditions of Triangulo Mineiro in the Campina Verde - MG region.For analyze and understand the paleopedogenetic evolution of Neocretaceus deposits, we will use macromorphology description, micromorphology description and geochemical analazys using x-ray fluorescence, in addition to the systematic description of lithofacies associated with existing paleopedogenetic intervals.The main objective is to identify the paleoenveriomental characteristics using as base the pedogenetic evolution of Marilia Formation's paleosol, proposing models that includes sedimentation's dynamic of the reasearching area, this study will help us to have a better comprehension about Bauru Basin.
