Abstract

This research project aims analyze the development of landscape from the optical dating of superficial deposits existing in the drained areas for river Araquá, located in the São Pedro and Charqueadas cities, both in São Paulo state. The mentioned river is of the contact between two main geomorphic provinces in the context of the state, the Peripheral Depression (Depressão Periférica Paulista) and the edge of the Western Plateau (Planalto Ocidental), represented by Cuestas, and has the basis sedimentary lithologies corresponding to Pirambóia, Corumbataí, Botucatu and Itaqueri formations, however also there are crystalline lithologies corresponding to basalt of the Serra Geral formation. The geomorphological dynamics of study area correlates with fluctuations and climate change, these responsible for development of planning surfaces in dry periods and when incising valleys dominated humid climates. In this context, were also responsible for the genesis of unconsolidated materials found in different sector of relief. Thus, the aim of this study is to understand the development of relief in the river Araquá watershed from analysis of superficial deposits that cover such surfaces; also seeks to comprehension of drainage organization and discuss about the different planning levels. For this research geomorphological outline, thematic maps and compilation of existing cartographic documents will be prepared; sedimentological and morphometric analyzes will also be conducted beyond the dating of sediments by Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL). The information obtained will be correlated from a systemic perspective, integrating structural, lithological and climatic aspects. (AU)
