This proposal is part of the effort to broaden the understanding of the indirect effects of aerosols in Amazonia in the evolution of the surrounding atmosphere. The method involves the use of data analysis and numerical modeling. For that, new developments of CCATT - BRAMS (Coupled Chemistry - Aerosol - Tracer Transport model coupled to Brazilian Regional Atmospheric Modeling System) are proposed as a modeling tool. The focus of the work will be on aerosols and their interfaces with the cloud microphysics scheme and convective parameterization module, aiming for a modeling system that allows the prediction of the number of cloud condensation nuclei, based on a more representative prediction of aerosols, considering the evolution of the particle number concentration and size distribution and chemical composition (via hygroscopicity and density) and their subsequent interaction with the procedures for activating cloud droplets. Applications for the Amazon region in the scope of the GoAmazon progam is proposed envisaging, through numerical modeling, to contribute to the understanding of the indirect effect of aerosols in the Amazon region.
