Abstract

The goal of the current research is to verify what effects the Scale of Intensity of Support (SIS) can bring to the elaboration of Educational Individualized Planning (EIP) to intellectually disable young and adults aiming their independency and insertion on society. One institution of each Brazilian region (south, southest, center-west, northwest and north) with the highest applied instruments will be chosen through the results of the design and validation of adaptation scale SIS research. Approximately 200 professionals and teachers of these Institutions will be invited to answer a survey containing themes related to the incorporation of this instrument in their daily work and the benefits proportionated to the development of EIP. Afterwards, about 120 intellectually disabled young and adults and 5 teams of professionals working with this people will participate on the current study, separated in groups according to their region. The researcher will visit these Institutions "on the spot" to assist the professionals on the elaboration of EIP to be developed from the results obtained through the scale. The implementation of the EIP will be monitored from distance through the environment of teaching and learning called Moodle, where the daily posting about the performance of the participating students will be required. After 10 months of the beginning of the intervention the researcher will come back to the institutions to replicate the scale in order to verify if it was sensible or not to the new learning acquired by the investigated population from the implementation of the EIP.
