Abstract

This aim this study will be to evaluate the behavior of different structures casted commercially pure titanium (cp Ti) welded LASER (light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) and TIG (tungsten inert gas), front the simultaneous tests of fatigue-corrosion. Fatigue of welded region includes mechanical fatigue that simulates the forces due to mastigation, and thermal fatigue , which simulates the thermal variations due to ingestion of cold foods or beverages (ice cream , ice cream juices , etc) and hot ( coffee, tea , etc). Tensions generated both by the forces involved either by thermal fluctuations will be considered in simutaneous. Ten frameworks will be casted in commercially pure titanium (cp Ti), simulating a three-element fixed prosthesis and ten index models in epoxy resin (one for each framework). The 10 frameworks will be screwed into their respective models index and after separated into two groups (n = 5): G1 - frameworks LASER welded, e G2 - frameworks TIG welded. Additionally, will be made 30 dumbbells casted cp Ti, separated into three groups (n = 10): G3 - LASER welded;G4 - TIG welded and G5 - without welding. After, 5 groups will be separately immersed in artificial saliva and tested of thermomechanical fatigue with corrosion to investigate of corrosion behavior associated with the fatigue process, and some dumbbells will be tested only corrosion. The groups will be analyzed for corrosion resistance through the analysis of the electrochemical behavior intrinsic and propagation of cracks through the application of the technique in fractographic scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results will be submitted to the Exploratory Analysis and made the statistical test for comparisons and correlations between the results. (AU)
