Spatial re-configurations in the country and agrarian counter-reform at contemporary Colombia: a spatial reading from David Harvey capital crisis theory

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to explain the processes of territorial reconfiguration at Colombia´s rural areas, which have existed during the last thirty years because of Colombia´s armed internal conflict and that trend to show a very strong concentration of land even in areas where there was settlements for agrarian reform. This specific process will be related with another one that occurs at the global level: Crisis of capitalism. For explaining that, this land concentration process by means of violence will be analyzed using David Harvey´s studies upon capital crisis, using, specially the concept of accumulation by dispossession.
