Abstract

Despite the historical concern with the issue of domestic sewage effluent and the input of organic matter causes profound changes in receiving water bodies directly influencing the quality of watersheds . organs sanitation are charged to an improvement in their treatments and has emerged the need for deployment of additional treatments stations contributing to the quality of water resources . With this comes the need to prevent the discharge of effluent with high nutrient concentrations and high potential for reuse in water bodies . For the implementation of tertiary treatment in wastewater treatment plants should know the dynamics of the elements C and N. the use of stable isotopes and mass spectrometry can help to understand the processes of cycling of these elements . Nitrogen is important for detailed studies to identify the main routes of transformation and removal of this element . No studies using N sources enriched in 15N in maturation ponds and stabilization in full operation to be a challenge for the research group.
